Reading and Farm Tour

This is the Farm’s third year partnering with the Rockport Library to provide a winter reading and farm tour for local pre-school children. The event took place on January 9th from 10:30 am until noon. Eighteen youths attended with their parent or caregiver. The event began at the library with Aldermere’s Sarah Post reading three books about farm animals and Jane Babbitt of the Rockport Library singing farm songs with the kids between stories.

After the reading, participants went to the Farm for a tour and visit with the Farm’s cattle, chickens, and horses. The children were able to pet the horses and say “hello” to the cows and chickens. Everyone had fun learning and was very excited to be at the Farm and to see all the animals.
