Second Annual Beltie
On a gorgeous winter day during the first weekend in December, the Farm held its second annual Beltie Holiday event, part of Christmas by the Sea in Camden and Rockport. The community was invited to come and have their picture taken with a real Beltie and then make a Beltie ornament to take home. Participants also had the opportunity to learn about Aldermere Farm, make other crafts, color, and enjoy baked goods sold by the Aldermere Achievers 4-H club.
Many families came prepared for the picture to be their annual holiday card image, while others just really wanted to pet a real “Oreo” cow. Everyone was in the holiday spirit and enjoyed watching others interact with the very patient heifer with a big red bow around her neck.
This year due to inclement weather the 4-H club did not partake in the parade the night before the event, but they did do an amazing job selling baked goods and helping others make ornaments during the main Beltie Holiday event. It looks like this event will become a yearly custom for many local families and the Farm.Holiday
