Knox County Food Council Public Meeting

Nov 9, 2021, 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm

Tuesday, November 9th, the Knox County Food Council will be joined by Candice Richards, Administrative Programs Coordinator of Knox County Emergency Management Agency.

In March 2020, as the Covid-19 pandemic loomed, several food pantries contacted Candice Richards at EMA. She organized a meeting with Knox County food pantries to field questions about emergency food planning. This evolved into a regular virtual group hosted by Candice and Lorain Francis from Penquis to hold food insecurity discussions and for the pantries to share supply updates and pandemic concerns along with staying apprised of emergency support from the State and Federal governments.

The Knox County Food Council is a cohort of citizens, organizations, and businesses in Knox County advocating for a community-based healthy food system for all. The Council’s monthly meetings are open to the public and are held online via Zoom from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM on the first Tuesday of every month.
