Natural Farming Practices at Erickson Fields Preserve

May 13, 2017 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

This free, hands-on Natural Farming Workshop, presented by Erickson Farm and Program Manager Aaron Englander, will teach attendees new farming techniques, including making natural fertilizers. Aaron will demonstrate Korean Natural Farming methods that encourage self-sustaining, closed loop systems through minimizing external inputs. Workshop attendees will learn to make inputs such as Indigenous Microorganism (IMO) soil innoculant, Fish Amino Acids, Fermented Plant Juice, Water-soluble Calcium and Calcium-Phosphate, and Lactic Acid Bacteria. The goal of the workshop is for attendees to leave equipped with the knowledge to implement these practices on their own farm or garden.

Attendees should dress for the weather and wear work clothes and closed-toe shoes. Please bring something to write with, water, a lunch and work gloves. Space is limited.
