The Knox County Food Council (KCFC) will be hosting Jamien Reynolds of Spear Spring Farm at their upcoming virtual meeting on March 8 at 5:00 PM to discuss the challenges and successes for their small, diversified farm operations, and how this might impact other operations like theirs during COVID and beyond. KCFC offers all of its monthly meetings to attendees via Zoom and they are open to any interested participants.
KCFC will be implementing a short survey during the meeting to gather information about attendees’ farm purchasing habits, preferences and values that will be shared with the presenter, and with other local farmers and council members interested in this preliminary data. Reynolds has a long history of engagement with farm operations in different capacities and brings to Spear Spring Farm previous experience as an agricultural business consultant. Embracing creative and innovative operational solutions, Reynolds provides a weekly e-newsletter that melds loved recipes, practical ordering information, and thoughtful comments on life and the pursuit of happiness to the farm’s hybrid Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)/farmstand participants. Visitors to the farm website can learn about the farm’s mission and vision, history, some key partnerships, and more.
