Milling Workshop
May 13, 2022, 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm, at Erickson Fields
Join us for a free wood milling demo from 2 PM to 4 PM on Friday, May 13 at Erickson Fields Preserve, 164 West St. Rockport, ME. Emilio Codega of Timberdoodle Tree Service will explain the basics of milling and give a demonstration on his Wood Mizer mill with some recently harvested lumber from the Preserve’s woodlot. The wood milled that day will be used to build barns at Erickson Fields and Aldermere Farm. Codega and Erickson Farm & Program Manager, Aaron Englander, will meet participants in the Erickson Fields parking lot and lead them on a ~1.5-mile walk to the mill site. Attendees are encouraged to bring water and snacks, and dress in layers and closed-toe boots. Pre-registration is required.
