Teen Ag Crew Celebrates 9 Years
MCHT’s Teen Ag Crew Program at Erickson Fields Preserve has been around since 2010 and now grows approximately six times the amount of food for the midcoast community than it did in its first year. In 2018, their 4-acre garden yielded 28,600 pounds! On January 22nd, Farm & Program Manager Aaron Englander gave a talk at a community gathering at Camden Hills Regional High School, where attendees enjoyed dishes featuring Teen Ag produce prepared by Food Director Susan Boivin.
Teens in this agricultural internship program are paid for their work and taught the A-Zs of market garden operations. MCHT is recruiting for the next crop of crew members to start this spring. Interested applicants may contact Joelle Albury at for more information.
