Erickson Fields Trail

ROCKPORT – Maine Coast Heritage Trust (MCHT) has launched a short online survey to collect feedback from visitors of Erickson Fields Preserve in Rockport. Located at 164 West Street (less than a mile from the Camden Hills Regional High School), Erickson Fields is former Rockport dairy farm that features a 1.4-mile trail and gardens where young people grow food for the community.

The trail, which connects Route 90 to Beech Hill Road, was designed to be an easy walking trail for various levels of mobility. For Erickson Farm & Program Manager, Aaron Englander, striving to make the trail accessible to all in the community is a high priority.

“Erickson Fields became a preserve thanks to grass-roots community fundraising. After 10 years of being a public space, we want to be sure the preserve is still meeting the whole community’s needs as best it can.”

The survey, which will close on January 15, will help MCHT determine how visitors utilize the preserve and inform revisions to the existing preserve guidelines (available online at mcht.org/preserve/erickson-fields) to better meet the needs of the community. All are welcome to participate in the survey and may take it online at aldermere.org/erickson-trail-use-survey.
