Guided Story Walk: Owl Moon

Families are invited to join Rockport Public Library’s Youth Services Librarian Stephanie Miller on Thursday, Dec. 1, at 10:30 a.m., for a story walk through Erickson Fields Preserve. Miller will be reading aloud from the book Owl Moon, by Jane Yolen. The book tells the story of a young girl and her father who go “owling” late on a winter night.
 
Owl Moon is a poetic story that lovingly depicts the special companionship of a young child and her father, as well as humankind’s close relationship to the natural world.

“John Schoenherr’s soft, exquisite watercolor illustrations wonderfully complement the gentle tale,” said the Library, in a news release.
 
This free program is presented by the Rockport Public Library and Maine Coast Heritage Trust. Erickson Fields Preserve is located at 164 West Street in Rockport.
